At Lion Track Safari, our story is built on passion, experience, and a deep love for Tanzania’s wildlife and landscapes. What began as a shared dream between two people from different parts of the world has grown into a safari company dedicated to creating unforgettable African adventures.
Meet Our Founder – Pastory Katwe
Pastory Katwe, the founder of Lion Track Safari, spent more than 20 years working as a professional safari and Mount Kilimanjaro guide across Tanzania’s most iconic destinations. Throughout his career, he led countless expeditions through the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire, Lake Manyara, and also guided climbers on Africa’s highest peak, Mount Kilimanjaro.
In addition to his mother tongue, Kiswahili, Pastory speaks fluent English and French, allowing him to connect with travelers from around the world and offer them a truly welcoming and enriching experience. Known for his deep wildlife knowledge, leadership on the mountain, and exceptional tracking skills, he earned the respect of both colleagues and guests throughout his career.
After more than two decades in the field, he founded Lion Track Safari with a vision to create authentic, personalized, and immersive safari and trekking experiences led by local expertise.
Meet Our Co-Founder – Megan Perkins
Megan Perkins, co-founder of Lion Track Safari, was born in the United Kingdom but has always carried a deep passion for Africa, wildlife, and tourism. In 2015, she traveled to Tanzania as a wildlife researcher, eager to explore the country’s extraordinary ecosystems and biodiversity.
It was during her time in Tanzania that she met Pastory Katwe. Sharing the same love for conservation, adventure, and meaningful travel experiences, the two quickly realized they had a common vision. Together, they dreamed of building a safari company that would connect travelers with the true beauty of Tanzania while supporting local communities and promoting sustainable tourism.
Today, Megan lives in Arusha, Tanzania, where she continues to help grow Lion Track Safari and welcome visitors from around the world to experience the magic of Africa.
